الگویی از سطوح رشد بصری

این هرم، سلسله‌مراتبی از مراحل تکامل یک عکاس را از ابتدایی‌ترین سطح (ثبت خاطره) تا اوج بلوغ بصری (عکاسی انتزاعی و بیان فلسفی) نمایش می‌دهد.

در پایه هرم، «ثبت خاطره» و «سلفی» قرار دارد که کاربرد روزمره و یادگاری عکاسی را نشان می‌دهد. با صعود به سطوح بالاتر، مؤلفه‌هایی چون «دیدن زیبایی»، «درک بصری»، «یادگیری مهارت»، «بیان شخصی»، «کار حرفه‌ای» و «خلق هنری» ظاهر می‌شوند. نوک هرم به «انتزاع و فلسفه ناب بصری» اختصاص دارد که غایت سیر تکاملی عکاس محسوب می‌شود.

این مدل تأکید دارد که عکاسی صرفاً مهارت فنی نیست، بلکه سفری از ادراک حسی تا آفرینش مفهومی و فراروی از بازنمایی عینی است.
